The proposed building mitigates between the scale of the town and that of the harbour. The office element relates to the planer monochromatic Georgian urban fabric to the rear of the site while the residential component faces the harbour. 

Social spaces are threaded through the form of the residential building allowing glimpsed views of the harbour from the office space to the rear. These spaces afford an alternative route to the upper floors to that of the lift access and have the potential to foster a community spirit among the residents. Light from the social spaces provides incident along the length of the corridor leading to each apartment reducing the visual length of the circulation space.
