The school wraps itself around an internal garden providing shelter and a relationship to the stepping contours of the site, spiraling from the entrance area up along the contours of the site, casually and easily linking all space of the school, and gradually becomes two storeys where stairs and lift provide short cuts. This naturally provides a sheltered courtyard, with single storey to the south allowing maximum sunlight and two storeys to the North and East with the PE Hall providing protection from the South West winds.
