The building forms a sanctuary of calm from daily life and the busy traffic outside. The courtyard within provides a buffer space along Cardiffsbridge Road. This courtyard garden provides an oasis and a backdrop of nature to the activities within the church space.
The church can be divided for the smaller gatherings, and larger events in the main hall. The smaller section is the sacred space and has an east west orientation. The stained glass panels salvaged from the original church, are in this space.
The colours of this modest building are taken from the original church, with the distinctive green of the copper roof reflected in the colour chosen for the body of the church building. It is proposed to use the shades of green of the roof in a smooth finished self coloured render.
The external wall which engaged in the public realm and wrap around the structure, stepping up and down to make the silhouette of the church, providing a buffer for the sanctuary within, is proposed to be robustly finished in pale grey rough cast render, the colour is a reference to the soft grey of the original grey brick church wall.
