​This project is located in the South of Kildare within a rural “strengthening” theme policy area. The proposed model village is designed to establish a socially, environmentally and culturally sustainable model for rural development by providing a visible alternative to Bungalow Blitz.

Serviced sites are proposed within a masterplan that provides district heating based on biomass, reed beds to deal with sewage in the area, a primary school, a crèche, age specific playgrounds, stables and bridle paths, a GAA pitch, a village community hall and public square, village centre, allotments, retail and workshops as opportunities for retail and employment creation This approach promotes sustainable housing in a rural setting within an environmentally sustainable framework that promotes the idea of community.
